MaSoledad Areza, RN
Staff Nurse

In 1985, MaSoledad Areza arrived in the United State of America from the Philippines. As a new Registered Nurse, she had been recruited through the foreign nurse program to work at Jacobi Medical Center. She was successful in achieving her RN on the State Board in 1986 and worked at Jacobi Medical Center on unit 7B in the Van Etten Building. In 1989, she transferred to North Central Bronx Hospital, Behavioral Health Services and has worked on Unit 11B for the last fifteen years.

MaSoledad Areza is a dedicated nurse. She is patient and kind to all her patients and in return she commands their respect. She is a strong leader; quiet and dependable. She arrives to work on time, everyday. She is respected by all of the interdisciplinary staff members, who seek her advice and respect her opinion. She can be called upon in an emergency and will respond with a quiet air of confidence to which her co-workers easily respond. Always smiling, if she voices a concern or complaint it is accompanied with a potential solution. She makes every effort to make the working environment safe and professional for everyone. Her most outstanding attributes are her dedication to details and her team spirit.

MaSoledad Areza is a wife and the mother of one daughter and she is closely involved in the activities of her daughter’s school.

The nursing staff in Behavioral Health Service salutes MaSoledad Areza for her dedication as a nurse and for her outstanding work ethics. She is a fine example to all who works with her.

MaSoledad Areza was nominated by the Staff of NCB-BHS Unit 11B.
