Jarris Theresa Bradford, RN
Assistant Head Nurse

Ms. Jarris Theresa Bradford, RN was introduced to the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation during her final two clinical nursing rotations. She completed this portion of her education at Bellevue Hospital Center. She then graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital in Charlotte North Carolina as a Registered Nurse on September 9th, 1948. .

Ms. Bradford started her professional nursing career with the Health and Hospitals Corporation on November 18th, 1948. She was initially employed as a staff nurse at Gold Water Memorial Hospital in the area of Nursing Rehabilitation Medicine. At this facility she expanded her nursing competencies and worked on “all of the nursing units”.

During the 60’s, she transferred to Harlem Hospital Center as a Staff Nurse working on the Rehabilitation unit, where she was promoted to the title of Assistant Head Nurse.

After 57 years of ongoing employment this trooper continues to care for the physically challenged patients on 3SE in a caring knowledgeable manner.

At the recognition ceremony, Ms. Bradford offered these words of advice for new nursing professionals, “Whatever your area of interested be good at it”. Her nursing goal throughout her career was to support her patients, whatever the situation, to be able to return to their communities.
