Nicomedes A. Sabio Jr. RN, BSN, CCRN
Staff Nurse

Nicomedes Sabio, RN, BSN, CCRN, is a staff nurse in the Queens Hospital Center Intensive Care Unit. He received his BSN from Perpetual Help University in Manila, Philippines. He started his nursing career at Queens Hospital Center in 1985.

Mr. Sabio is a role model for Excellence in Nursing. He demonstrates compassion for others in many various aspects of his profession: as a provider of care, patient advocate, liaison between providers and patients. He is a respected team leader and mentor. His calm, pleasant manner, experience and clinical knowledge make him a respected, valuable source of support to his colleagues.

He is an effective preceptor and mentor to new intensive care unit nurses. During the past year has been a preceptor in a grant funded project which has cross-trained 20 medical RNs to work in the Critical Care.

Mr. Sabio’s excellent and compassionate nursing practice makes him the well-deserved recipient of the Queens Hospital Center Nurse of The Year Award.

An added bonus for Queens Hospital Center is Nicomedes Sabio’s wife, Laurie, she is a Registered Nurse in the Queens Hospital Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
